Surface Roughness and Contour Measurement Technology
How does surface roughness and contour measurement work?
Our experienced 3D measurement technicians use state-of-the-art measurement systems to precisely measure the surface finish and contour of workpieces. To do this, we employ a tactile measurement method. The two measurement techniques—roughness and contour—enable us to precisely determine the surface roughness and contour of workpieces. The collected data can then be used for various measurement purposes, such as quality control, product development, and manufacturing optimization.
What measurement tasks are performed?
Our laboratory specializes in measuring surface roughness values, such as Rt, Rmax, Rz, Ra, Rp, Rmr, and other contour parameters. We assist our customers with quality control of workpieces and the optimization of manufacturing processes.
Using the powerful EVOVIS analysis software, we can perform the following measurement tasks for you:
- Surface Roughness and Contour Measurements During Initial Sampling
- Evaluation of Surface Parameters
- Post-measurement roughness analysis of measured profiles
- Roughness Analysis of Straight Lines, Inclines, and Radius Segments
